What is a CLI

CLI stands for Command Line Interface. One of the most well-known CLIs is the MS-DOS command prompt. Here you give commands to the computer operating system by means of text commands. The advantage of a CLI is that you can give commands to the operating system in a more detailed way.

The CLI, unlike the GUI a much steeper learning curve. The CLI is the counterpart of the GUI.
